Patchlamp, the texting service, has its own current copy of this page at patchlamp.com/privacy. What follows stays as it was published.
This is written in plain language on purpose. It covers two things: this website, and the service where clients text a phone number to change their own website. If anything here is unclear, email me and I'll answer directly.
I'm Taylor Remund, a software developer operating as a sole proprietor in Utah. I'm the only person who handles your information. Contact: remundtaylor3@gmail.com.
taylorremund.com does not use analytics, advertising, cookies, or tracking of any kind. There is no login and no form. If you email me, I have your email address and whatever you wrote, and I use it only to reply to you.
Two things happen in the background that you should know about:
Some clients change their website by texting a phone number I operate. This section is for them and for anyone they authorize to use it.
What I collect. Your mobile phone number, the content of the messages you send, any photos or attachments you send, and the time they were sent. I also keep a record of what was changed on your site as a result, and the reply that was sent to you.
Why. Solely to do what you asked: make the change to your website and tell you when it's done. Your number is also used to confirm you're someone authorized to make changes to that site. It is never used for anything else — no marketing, no newsletters, no outreach.
Who processes it. Making this work involves three services, each of which handles your messages under its own privacy terms:
What I don't do with it. I don't sell it. I don't share it with anyone for advertising or marketing. I don't use it to build profiles. The only people and services who see your messages are me and the three services above, and only to carry out your request.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use-case categories exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from the service number. Reply HELP for help. Note that if you stop texts, the service can no longer reply to you — text START to turn it back on.
How long I keep it. For as long as you're a client, plus a short period afterward so I can troubleshoot if something went wrong. Message logs are kept on equipment I control. When our agreement ends, or any time you ask, I delete the logs of your messages. Photos you asked to have published stay on your website, because it's your website — remove them the same way you added them, or ask and I'll do it.
You can ask me at any time what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I'll do it — no forms, no waiting period. If you're in a place with specific privacy laws (California, the EU, the UK), those rights apply and I'll honor them.
Nothing here is directed at anyone under 18, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If this changes, the new version goes here with a new effective date. If the change affects how I handle clients' messages, I'll tell those clients directly.
